Why Toytec Lifts?
Adding a lift to your Toyota has all sorts of benefits. If you are taking your vehicle off-road, you will appreciate the higher clearance, better handling and suspension, and more aggressive way it tackles rough terrain. When on the road, a lift kit can give your vehicle a higher profile to attack standing water, snow, or other adverse conditions. You also gain the advantage of better visibility and seeing further up ahead, over the roofs of other cars.
Lift kits also just make your vehicle look cool. With added lift, you can change up to larger wheels and tires, for performance as well as aesthetic value.
Some considerations to take when thinking of a lift on any vehicle, kits or modifications.
Lift kits and suspension components are listed with a suggested ride height gain. Most times it is accurate, but every vehicle is a bit different and results may vary. Bumpers, winches, accessories and age can all play a role.
Components of a kit can be added or interchanged to suit your needs and vehicle.
There can be instances where a component may not be required but is a recommended item. We will always want to do the best thing, and will not comprise safety, but understand that sometimes the budget just doesn’t allow for the best scenario.
When doing any modifications, and/or repair work for that matter, we have many years of experience and all the tools to deal with seized components however sometimes it’s just not possible to free up seized parts. If oxy/acetylene or heat inductor is required there will be a charge of $49.00 to try to save the component but if that is unsuccessful, additional parts will be required. Lower control arms and align eccentrics are a good example of this.
There are a lot of factors that come into play when putting a larger tire under your rig to decide whether or not it will fit and give you the needed clearance. Many times it will fit just fine, and we know what should work, but sometimes some tire rub under certain conditions may occur. This can be eliminated by many different methods, adjustments, trimming, additional modifications, or a combination of these. It might even be minor enough that it's acceptable to you. This needs to be considered when you are looking at all the components, but sometimes it can't be confirmed until after the actual tire and wheel combination is on the vehicle.
If the purpose of the lift is to fit some larger aggressive tires and use them for their purpose then upgrading some components and possibly changing the gear ratio to retain some normal driving characteristics might be required.
